Adam D. Zucker, Esq. was a presenter at the Ninth Annual Accused Students Symposium in Washington D.C. This premier education symposium is attended by the top attorneys and firms in the country, specifically those who defend students and faculty in Title IX and campus discipline matters. Mr. Zucker’s presentation was titled “Representing Autistic Student in Title IX Matters,” which had the following abstract:
“Over the past several years the number of autistic students enrolling in college has increased dramatically. Being on one’s own for the first time and navigating the social landmines can result in behavior and misunderstandings that can result in the filing of Title IX and disciplinary complaints against an autistic student. Many Title IX offices have not been trained or equipped to work with neurodiverse individuals. Title IX attorneys need to learn how to best work with and assist the autistic student and obtain the necessary accommodations and employ the appropriate resources to give them the best chance for success in the college Title IX and disciplinary setting.”
Congratulations to Mr. Zucker on this accomplishment.
